Journaling is something I have never been good at, but something that has always benefited me. When I take the time to organize, edit, and record my thoughts, the lessons learned always stick better, last longer, and are easier to recall and reuse. The actual act of writing is the important part, rather than the reference itself that was created.

That is the primary purpose of this blog, to provide myself with structure to journal about the things I learn, as I learn them, for all of my projects and hobbies. I expect the actual subject matter will vary greatly, with some weeks being entirely centered around software development, and others running the gamut from DIY synthesizers to linocut printing, from game design to statistical modeling.

The secondary purpose is to provide record of my progress for both posterity and reference. Often, it is important to have ready examples of skills and interests, and a simple link is the best way to do that.

The goal is to post something every Sunday evening, even if it is just a post that says how hard life is, bemoaning the need for doing laundry over making music.

Once a week, Sunday evening is the beginning goal. Like the hobbies, interests, and professional skills I am setting out to improve and document, blogging itself is a new skill for me. So, expect mistakes and some missed posts, but also expect moments of learning and reflection to come from them.

I am excited to start this journey, and even more excited to see where it goes!
